Dreamhack 2019 Atlanta
Had the opportunity to film London On Da Track for the Dreamhack Concert series. Super fun. Shot on Sony.
Always loved Dash Rendar’s YT-2400 from the Shadows of the Empire storyline so I spent some time modeling an updated version. Modeled most of it in C4D and textured with Octane Render PBR textures. In the story the Outrider was heavily modified so I tried to add odd bits of tech and added a centerline missile bay similar to the ones that are equipped on the Clone Wars era LAAT transports. Once I got the ship in a decent place I was compelled to animate a quick fly through of a shipyard I made one day when I was bored.
It started with a sketch and a love of Heavy Metal magazine…I saw this scene in my head of this lone bounty hunter on this cyberpunk backwater planet attempting a daring hover-rocket escape. I came up with some different iterations before landing on the final design. I think I wanna play with this some more, maybe animate it.

I was daydreaming last week about flying around in my own single seat starfighter. So I modeled and kitbashed one. I wanted the design language to feel like it came out of the 50-60s when jets first broke on the scene but it needed a chunky 80s sci fi grunge. After a bunch of sketches and some 3d experiments the Bazda 1370 Starmaster was born. I’ll add more stuff below as i dig it up.

These are from an OP that postulated what would the future be like if the Roman Empire never fell. Here are a few examples of offense and defense. Most of these were modeled roughly in Cinema and then painted over.

(Angry KIller Androids)
This is a personal story that I have been working on lately in my spare time. It will be an anthology that will follow the stories of robot and human relations in the near future.
I am still in the napkin sketch phase on most of these. Trying to generate basic looks and ideas I have had for the project. Some of these are paint overs of models I made in C4D or Blender while others are painted in procreate.
With all the news about extraterrestrial life and UAPs buzzing around I figured I would dump a bunch of Alien doodles and concepts. Most of these are either procreate or done in 3D and painted over. The twitchy little dude was done in Cinema.
Science Fiction has ruined me on conventional travel modes. It is 2023 and I still don’t have my own personal anti-gravity speeder bike. Since I can’t get one of my own, I made one in cinema. Modeled this one from a cube. Still can’t ride it though.
The KX2 Kestrel is a 2 seat heavy attack fighter that I dreamed up the other day when I was sketching. I ended up modeling the entire thing in C4D in a day. I did some cockpit detailing that I need to flesh out a little more. I am definitely going to spend more time detailing and animating this one. I dig the arrowhead lifting body look and want to play with some animated hatches or spoilers along the body to add different utility like rocket pods or and ECM suite to the spaceframe.

Working on some look dev for futuristic exteriors. Did these mainly in procreate and C4D. Fun to use elements I’ve modeled and combine them with a more traditional paint over style.
Small Parasite ship for the Recluse ship. I went straight to 3D on this one because sometimes it just easier to start playing with shapes and see how they look together from different angles.
I wouldn’t be a card carrying dork if I didn’t include some fantasy stuff. I’ve dropped some elven armor, a couple of “wizard stickers” and some concepts for various types of elves in a bunch of different styles. Sometimes you have an idea and you only have time for a sketch or a rough out. Other times you can play and actually model out some of the elements as you’ll see about midway though the stack.
Here’s a small horde of goblins. Did these one night for fun. Tried to keep them relatively in the same fantasy style but with some variation to give them some character.
EV suit designs for a personal project. Sometimes it helps to flesh out a concept as you go. Modeled and textured the helmet and most of the armor. Mainly PBR textures.

I am obsessed with alien life. This is going to be a repository for most of my non-grey alien typed xenomorphs. Most of these were done in procreate, I think a couple were quick sketches using the light pen in clip studio.
Sketched these on the IPAD the other day. They were super small so I blew them up. Was thinking about mini-dungeon bosses or elite characters you would bump into while seeking treasure in an old crypt.
One of my favorite Jedi from the Clone Wars was Aalya Secura. So one night I was like man I wanna refresh the design of her uniform. So spent a little time modeling in C4D, robbing textures and parts from other things to get a workable model I could rig for posing. I was a little inspired by the old Force Unleashed game art and marketing stills I saw in an old game magazine I was throwing out.
Oh yeah and the saber came from my own 3d library of random sci-fi objects I created. I may post a pack for free on gumroad or something later.
I have this strange compulsion to draw spaceships on a daily basis. Here are a few doodles done in Procreate while I was probably feeding my face with the T.V. blaring.
I caught the tail end of Warcraft on cable. So while it was playing I was sketching orcs and goblins. Being able to digitally sketch on your couch is the greatest invention in human history.

An ongoing digital collection of ancient spacetime ships, inspired by sanskrit stories. Most of these were done in C4D using layered fractals.

Working on a ship design for a while. Still not totally satisfied with it. I was kind of using the body of a jumping spider for the shape cues as they have an aggressive stance. I feel like the bridge needs tweaks and I will get to it eventually.
Quick pilot’s chair concept modeled in Cinema. Did this one for practice.
I sketch random starships on a daily basis. These had a bit of a Star Trek feel to them with a dash of Mandal Motors. 30 min in procreate.

Was watching Obiwan the other day and loved the Sith inquisitors. It reminded me a little of the game Star Wars The Old Republic. I always loved the way Darth Malgus looked in the game promotional art. So I doodled a little in 2D and then played in C4D and Octane Render to belt out a couple renders.

Quick ship concept, done in C4D octane render for fun.
Heavy Metal Cover concept. Wanted that plastic MaxHeadroom 90s cg look. Sort of like the packaging from 80s and 90s toys.

I’ve been farting away on a comic idea for the better part of 4 years. It is a cheesy 80’s sci fi story about an ill tempered cargo captain. Here are some yet to be lettered pages along with some 3d concepts of the main ship, Lately I have been concepting sets, vehicles and props in 3D using C4D and Octane. I will update with those soon.
Mandolorians are the shit. Bottom line. I always loved Boba as a kid and with all the new Disney shows I am glutted with stuff to watch. Anyways, heres a Female Mando I made for fun. I read a story about how the Cloners used Mandos as trainers for the troopers. So I think this kind of fits in that general era as far as the Beskar looks. I’ll do more with this sometime in the future.

Brand logos for random sci fi objects done in illustrator to be used as textures and decals.
When you’re making sci-fi art you gotta have fodder ships. Ya know ships that are decent from afar that you can use as blaster food for a pirate ship. This took me a couple of days to pop together in C4D. This would be a small sized mid range cargo hauler. Something akin to a space semi truck. I wanted a modular rear hull that I could clone boxes or cargo on to so eventually when I get around to animating it I can have the boxes blow away and explode depending on the various contents.

I always liked the bulky cigar shaped fuselages on commercial airliners and always wanted to see that integrated into a starship design. I mean its been done before but this was just a fun exercise in modeling and kitbashing.

Photobashing and painting some nightmare fuel one night whilst listening to creepy pastas.
Had a happy accident the other day when I was playing with fractals in octane. The textures had a very Japanese feel to them and it made me think of these huge creatures made entirely of flowing fractal designs. Sort of a strange interdimensional Kaiju.
C4D OCTANE AFTEREFFECTS
I always wondered why alien life is always depicted as being a bipedal and relatively human-looking. So I imagined a lifeform that looked anything but human in its appearance. These creatures are everchanging like a magnetic fluid. I also imagined it communicating via visual cues like a squid with this nebula-like energy.
C4D OCTANE PHOTOSHOP
This is kind of just a dump of comic hero pinups. These were all done in either photoshop or procreate. Mainly an experiment in style and different custom brushes.
Was watching a show the other day about flying saucers. So I was compelled to make some. Did these in Cinema using octane displacement texture greebles I made in photoshop.

This was a quick model I made in C4D for a light observation craft for a story I am working on. It’s modern day equivalent would be something like the U.S. Army Kiowa Helicopter.
This ship resides in the same universe as the Kestrel Heavy Attack Fighter that I created and bears similar greebles and the staggered reddish orange markings of the COAR Defense Force.

Was working out this title idea with slow tight shots of a character frozen in the glass of a hyper-sleep chamber. Did some quick modeling to establish the cryo-sleep bay.
